The primary force that changed the entrepreneurial Valley Construction of 1925 into its current form was and continues to be its customers. More than the technology that Valley embraced, the economics that drive our markets in which we work in, the customer has molded the turn-of-the-century company into a responsive and flexible contractor.

When Arthur J. Hass bought his first piece of equipment in 1925, he had no idea his Rock Island Alley Project would pave the way to over 80 years of steady, safe, and respected growth. Today Valley Construction, a subsidiary of The Valley Group, seeks to continually build on its rich history of using the latest construction methods more safely and with more value than any of its competitors.

Today, the Hass family still owns the company that performs earthwork, utility, structural, industrial, bridge and building construction in addition to its original paving abilities. Major acquisitions have diversified the company and further established its market position over seven decades.

In response to the various cycles in local economics, Valley has diversified into a true general contractor, thriving off the control of self-performing site work, underground and concrete construction.

Both Private and public clients continue to demand more from contractors and Valley continues to stay ahead of those demands with investments in personnel, equipment and technology.
